Theoretical or Conceptual Framework serves two purposes (Maxwell 2005):

1) Shows how your research fits into what is already know (relationship to existing theory
and research)
2) Shows how your research will make a contribution on the topic to the field (its
intellectual goals)

Questions_Sections of the TF

1. What research has been conducted in the past on your topic?

2. What theories exist about your topic?

3. What is the relevance of the past research?

4. Are there any agreements or disagreements among the existing research?

5. Are there any flaws in the research?

6. What are the recommendations from other researchers?


(Make sure the articles you present in the Literature Review are cyclical with your research
questions, theoretical & conceptual frameworks)
