To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this letter to give my highest possible recommendation for Melisa Velenzuela. I
have known Melisa for about three years. She was in my Spanish for Spanish Speakers class two
years ago. Melisa has been able to achieve tremendous growth and development. She has been
able to grow in maturity and character as well. In the years I have known Melisa, it has been my
privilege to watch her grow in all academic areas. Based on her grades (4.27 GPA), attendance
and class participation, I would rate her academic performance in my class as superior.

Melisa has immense strengths. She is a good-natured and well-disciplined person. She has a
positive attitude toward her studies and always tries very hard to improve herself. She is
industrious and eager to learn. She is intuitive and motivated. Melisa possesses an immense
passion for learning. She is ambitious and persistent.

One of Melisa’s long term goals is to attend a four year university and transfer to Medical School
and become a successful psychiatrist. I firmly believe Melisa possesses the necessary skills and
talent to accomplish all her goals. She always shows great initiative and diligence; she is able to
develop intelligent plans and implement them successfully.

Melisa has also contributed to the well-being of her school and community. She has held various
positions in our school organizations and clubs: Interact Club-Secretary; AVID Club; Academic
Mentor Club. Melisa has 200 hours of mentoring his underclassmen peers and 20 hours of
community service during Summer School.

I give Melisa Valenzuela my highest recommendation with absolute confidence.

Sincerely,

Gerardo Guardado
