He graduated from Columbia

University and the prestigious


Harvard Law School, where he
was president of the Harvard Law
Review.

He was a professor of
constitutional law at the Faculty of
Law at the University of Chicago
from 1992 to 2004.
In the year 2000 he lost the electoral contest for a position
in the House of Representatives of the United States, and
after his previous failure, in January of 2003 he announced
his candidacy to the United States Senate.

Promoted, along with other senators, the law for the control
of conventional weapons and to promote greater public
accountability in the use of federal funds.
Since the announcement of his
presidential campaign in February 2007,
Obama emphasized ending the Iraq War,
increasing energy independence and
providing universal healthcare as the top
national prioities.

He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for


his diplomatic efforts in favor of nuclear
disarmament, the achievement of a peace
process in the Middle East and the
promotion of the fight against climate
change.
