A strange sight greeted a woman named Loni Gaisford while playing golf with her family one Sunday. It
was by the fourth hole, and it was too unusual to pass up.

She discovered several golf balls arranged in a circle hole on a metal fence that marked the line between
a neighboring house and the golf course. Upon closer inspection, Gaisford noticed a sign posted near the
weird display. She initially thought it was a memorial, but she soon found out she was mistaken.

The sign showed the photo of a charming dog. It said that the dog’s name was River and she was a five
year old female pup. It also informed the reader that if the pup found a lost golf ball, it would be
automatically added to the golf ball ring.

Gaisford was amused at the reason why the ring existed. Soon enough, she found River playing nearby
all by herself. The pup was focused on her toy that she didn’t notice Gaisford at once.

Seeing Gaisford by the fence, River walked over to greet her. The hole was big enough to let the pup
stick her head through, allowing her to ask for a few head scratches. When Gaisford and her family had
to move to another location, she walked towards the waiting dog and stroked her lovely fur one last
time.

Gaisford wasn’t aware that River already had quite a reputation with the golfers in that area.
Apparently, River was known as the sweet and friendly dog who greeted golfers enthusiastically. She
even jumped into a golf cart to greet golf players.

More golfers started to share their stories about River as Gaisford’s story circulated online. Some
noticed the dog but weren’t fortunate to receive her warm greeting. One thing was for sure, River
definitely gave Gaisford a day she’ll remember.
