There are no clear guidelines on how to become an internet celebrity. Some have tried to unleash their
creativity and shared artworks that reflected their passion and skills, only to fail in capturing any
interest. However, there are also some who didn’t need to pour as much effort into their creations, yet
suddenly went viral and was featured in several websites across the online world.

Meet Jay Cartner, an artist who has shared his drawings and paintings for over 25 years. Who knew that
among his countless artworks, people actually made a connection with the ones that looked like they
were doodled by a 10-year-old. He confessed that most people weren’t really interested in his well-
thought out art stuff, but his dog doodles easily brought smiles to those who saw them.

He and his husband Grady shared their home with three greyhounds. He found that greyhounds made
really good models, which inspired him to create more goofy doodles of his furbabies. Jay loved
capturing his dogs’ awkward poses on paper, sharing them online for the online world to enjoy.

He started creating his doodles when he was having a particularly stress-filled day. In order to relax, he
began doodling his dog Stanley, who loved making hilarious poses.

Stanley was a total goofball, with an affinity for cookies while avoiding all forms of exercise. A true couch
potato, this pup loved loafing around on his owner’s couch. Most of his photos captured his unusual
poses that served as Jay’s inspiration in most of his doodle artwork.

His doodles may appear simple and effortless, yet they reflect his dogs’ unique quirks and personalities
in an unassuming way. His doodles became so famous that people started commissioning him to draw
their own pets. Most of these requests included other animals such as cats, geckos, horses, and guinea
pigs.

Jay’s art might be an acquired taste but he’s happy he gets to bring genuine smiles to other people’s
faces.
