I have made decision based on the following choices. The first thing to do, before even
looking at any model is to decide which operating system you would like to use on your
new laptop.
The four most commonly used operating systems for web design and web development are
Chrome OS, Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Each of them is available on a wide variety of
portable computers with varying specifications, and each have their own distinct
advantages and disadvantages.
Chrome OS (Aka Chromium OS)
Chrome OS is the simplest and most straightforward operating system available today. The
operating system, created by Google, is very similar to the popular Chrome web browser,
except transformed into an operating system.
Unlike the other three operating systems listed above, ChromeOS doesn’t have a file
browser, and it doesn’t run applications. Instead, all web design development work has to
be done through browser-run web apps.
For designers and developers who like to code directly in raw HTML and CSS, and don’t like
using code editors or interactive development environments, Chrome OS is a fine, albeit
limited, choice.
Linux
Linux is arguably the most difficult to use operating system available today. Many
commands need to be entered directly into the command line, which can be rather
daunting and unintuitive. Installing apps and making changes to the operating system can
be difficult, too.
However, despite having a steep learning curve, Linux is arguably the most powerful and
customisable operating system available today. It can be customised to match your specific
needs exactly, allowing you to create your own perfect development environment.
Perhaps the most ‘user-friendly’ derivation of Linux is Ubuntu which is a free operating
system for desktop and mobile devices.

A bunch of HP and Dells for my brother's office from Groupon and all were from 128 to
250USD. His office needs are on the low end with our lowest specs being a dual core CPU,
4GB RAM, preferably SSD and 120GB for SSD or HDD.

It's all web forms so it runs Chrome for the most part.

 Gorgeous design
 Fast 10th Gen Intel performance
 Vibrant, immersive display
 Great battery life (on 1080p model)
 Comfortable keyboard

The latest XPS 13 comes outfitted with Intel’s latest 10th Gen processors, making it an even
speedier multitasking machine for browsing the web, getting work done and doing some
light gaming. Dell’s signature InfinityEdge display now sports a trimmed bottom bezel that
makes watching movies and shows even more immersive. And more minor touches, such
as a snappy edge-to-edge keyboard and a larger touchpad, just make the XPS 13 even more
of a delight to use.

As with previous models, the new Dell XPS 13’s svelte design comes at the expense of ports,
and you’ll be sacrificing a lot of battery life if you opt for the 4K model. And now that Apple
has finally launched the MacBook Pro 2020 (13-inch) with a revamped Magic Keyboard
and some seriously impressive specs, Dell's flagship laptop has stiffer competition than
ever.
But as you’ll see in our Dell XPS 13 2020 review, Dell’s flagship PC is still the laptop to beat
thanks to some smart refinements both inside and out.

HP ENVY Laptop - 17t Best Value

There are no two ways about it: the HP Envy 17t is a decidedly large laptop. It’s not
particularly shy about this fact, and doesn’t make any attempts to hide it. It’s also heavy.
And did we mention how large it is?
Snark aside, the HP Envy 17t does put a lot of interesting features into one chassis to make
it very compelling offering for a likely small subset of shoppers that have the need for them.
This includes things like a full-size, no-compromise keyboard that doesn’t cram any oblong,
squished keys anywhere. It also features plenty of ports and connectivity, enough to
actually use it in this day and age without a dongle (hold your gasps). And the coup-de-
grace, this behemoth of a laptop has the sheer audacity to include a DVD drive, making it
the ultimate computer of choice for the “they sure don’t make ‘em like they used to” crowd.
Let’s unpack this sometimes peculiar and sometimes admirable laptop and take a look at all
it has to offer.
Let’s get all the gawk-worthy specs out of the way before anything else. The HP Envy 17t
has a display measuring 17.3 inches across, and weighs in at a whopping 8.6 pounds. To put
this in perspective, that’s more than two of Apple’s most recent 15-inch MacBook Pros, and
nearly as much as three of LG’s featherweight 17-inch Gram laptops. All this is to say that
the HP Envy 17t is certainly not the most portable laptop on the market today. Despite this,
we were still able to fit it in a not-too-big backpack without much trouble.
The keyboard is large and spacious, featuring nice, solid keys with even spacing
throughout. Going from our usual desktop keyboard to this laptop keyboard was a fairly
natural transition, not requiring a lot of getting used to. The only design decision we
weren’t in love with was the backlighting on the keys. Since the keycaps themselves are
silver, set against a silver background, the white under-key lighting made the keys actually
harder to see in anything but very dark conditions.

It feels like it can take a punch. Built to stand up to the kind of punishment that can only be
doled out by school children, the bottom are surrounded by a rubberized protective ring
that serves as armor against drops. The dark-blue rubber and gray plastic make look like
the official Chromebook of the New York Yankees, but the only logos are Asus' and the
Chrome moniker on the lid.

Asus claims that when the lands flat, and when it lands on its side, it can survive drops from
2.6 feet. Additionally, the spill-resistant keyboard should handle 2.23 ounces of liquid.
I took the Chromebook up to our office roof for some drop testing, and the Asus earned
some battle scars but kept on kicking. When I dropped it on its side from 2.6 feet, it came
away with just slight scuffs on its rubberized rings.
When I dropped it on its side from 2.6 feet, the came away with just slight scuffs on its
rubberized rings. When I did a 3.9-foot drop, I heard a snap when it hit the concrete and
immediately sensed that something had gone wrong. Upon opening the laptop, I was
relieved to see that the system was still fully operational, but saw that the plastic cover had
fallen off the hinge, making it difficult to open and close.
it was time to put those spill-resistant claims to the test. I spilled a quarter of a cup of water
on the keyboard. The water beaded and rolled off the keyboard for the most part, but a
quick flip upside down drained the computer of any residual fluid. A few seconds and a
couple of paper towels later, the keyboard continued to work as normal.
Asus' drop test claims seem accurate based on the results of our Chromebook drop test.
With a durability score of 7, the Asus landed in sixth place out of 11 of the most popular
Chromebooks. Weak spots include the laptop's top bezel, which separated after we
dropped the laptop from 4.5 feet onto concrete and carpet.

Page 11: A FULL page discussion of which computer you would buy if you could afford any
of these machines.

If i could afford, i will buy ASUS chromebook, because of following reasons.

 Durable, modular design that makes it easy to repair or replace parts.
 Reasonable price.
 Excellent battery life.

As classrooms become increasingly high-tech, it's out with the old composition notebooks,
and in with the chromebooks. The Asus Chromebook C202SA-YS02 ($229) is crafted with
kids in mind and features a rugged design with a spill-resistant keyboard. Though it's a bit
thicker than similar chromebooks, and can be a little sluggish when running multiple
browser tabs, its long battery life, affordability, and modular design, make it a solid choice
for use in schools. Still, the Acer Chromebook R 11 ($299.00 at Walmart) remains our top
pick for its strong performance, superior local storage, and convertible design, but it will
cost you more. If you're on a strict budget, the Chromebook C202SA-YS02 is worth a look.

Measuring 0.89 by 11.57 by 7.87 inches (HWD) and weighing 2.64 pounds, the C202 is
slightly thicker, but lighter than hardy competitors like the Lenovo ThinkPad 11e
Chromebook ( at Amazon) (0.87 inch, 3.1 pounds) and the Dell Chromebook 11 Non-Touch
($299.00 at Dell Technologies) (0.83 inch, 2.7 pounds). And as far as 11-inch chromebooks
go, the C202 is definitely on the thicker side. That being said, its small size means it doesn't
take up too much space in a backpack or messenger bag, and isn't going to break your back
while commuting to work or traveling between classes.
