MAP PLAYER ORIENTATION

We have designed our Training Camp to prepare you for an entry-level position at a
competitive Fortune 500 company through substantive practice and real-world simulations
in a supportive, yet challenging, environment. Unlike other courses, our team is made up
exclusively of former student-athletes from underrepresented communities. Accordingly,
our curriculum is not informed by “maybe’s” or “guesses”—our team draws from our
collective experiences on and off the field to create a game-winning strategy on how to
create a competitive profile for your future Fortune 500 career.

Why?
Students must first understand the standards and expectations of highly competitive
industries in order to prepare for future entry-level positions (i.e., developing strong answers
to common interview questions and preparing a quality resume and cover letter). We have
collaborated with HR experts in these industries to better understand the skills that they
value and prioritize in candidates, and how they can be applied to an interview (“post-game
interview”) and resume (“press pass”).

Accordingly, we have devised a playbook that starts with the ‘endgame’ in mind. Students
often wonder, “what are the characteristics of people that look like me and have
successfully navigated competitive industries?” Our ‘Training Camp’ develops those
characteristics—and more—and trains our students to envision the ‘endgame’ and to
reverse each characteristic back to the beginning or the place where many of our students
are most comfortable; on the field.

Method
We apply the P.A.S.S. first method to our robust curriculum—and you will work throughout
the course to practice, apply, score, and succeed in all facets of your personal and
professional life. MAP’s team and wide network of coaches will make themselves available
throughout the course to help you navigate the schedule and learn new skills. We have
designed our course to promote on the field development, off the field development,
networking, personal and professional branding, student-leadership, and personal growth.
