1. Important safety instructions
j For the use of the device notice the national safety and accident prevention regulations and the
following safety instructions shown in italics in this instruction manual.
®@ Before using CeoTronics products read completely the appropriate operating instructions. If in doubt, ask our
technical staff.
® if repair work of any kind needs to be done to CeoTronies products, arrange for it to be performed only by the
company CeoTronics or by a specialized workshop that is authorized by CeoTronics. In all other cases our
warranty and liability for the product shall lapse.
® /f products are operated on a mains voltage, always pull the mains plug out of the mains plug socket before
opening such products (e.g. for servicing purposes) !
® CeoTronics products that are not intrinsically safe (explosion-proof) and therefore have no special explosion-
proof designation must never be operated in potentially explosive environments (e.g. when refuelling cars,
aircraft etc.). Devices that are not explosion-proof can unintentionally trigger off explosions in such areas !
® Charge rechargeable batteries only with the appropriate suitable CeoTronics charger. Observe the voltage and
currency specifications, including those on the mains face (e.g. 230 V AC or 115 V AC). Never use the charger
to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
® When handling rechargeable batteries comply with environmental protection regulations! Never
attempt to open a rechargeable battery and never throw a rechargeable battery into fire. Expended
(defective) rechargeable batteries are subject to compulsory regulated waste disposal. Do not put
them in the household waste!
® Ensure that a short-circuit (risk of fire or injury) is not created across rechargeable battery terminals or
charging sockets by a short-out (bent-open paper clip, bunch of keys etc.). In such an event the warranty shall
lapse. Transport any spare rechargeable batteries in an electrically nan-conducting package in order to avoid
short-circuiting the rechargeable batteries.
® Keep CeoTronics products and rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children and any other persons who
are not familiar with the handling and operation thereof.
® Packaging materials, e.g. filling materials and plastic bags are not toys and have to be kept aut of the reach of
children. There is a risk of children ingesting them and choking !
® Safe operation requires clean devices. Ensure that the devices are clean and in good condition at all times.
® CeoTronics products may only be used for the specific application envisaged.
® Should equipment, supplied by CeoTronics, be definitely put out of service you may return it fo
CeoTronics. We ensure recycling and/or disposal of outdated equipment in compliance with the
applicable environment protection law.
Charge rechargeable Li-lon battery packs for CT-DECT Multi only. In the case of other battery packs an
explosion may result!
The charger may only be used in dry indoor rooms with normal air humidity. The device has to be
protected against water and dirt and may not be positioned near to radiators or any other sources of heat.
Do not cover up the charger during charging.
The mains cord should be disconnected from mains voltage if the charger is not in use.
Do not put the charger in operation in the case of a damaged housing or a damaged mains cord or mains
plug.
Do not open the charger.
Never attempt to open a rechargeable battery and never throw a rechargeable battery into fire.
Used up (defective) rechargeable batteries are subject to compulsory regulated waste disposal. Do not
put them in the household waste!2. General Description
The charger is used for recharging CeoTronics Li-lon batteries 3.7 V/1.8 Ah in transmitter/receiver devices
CT-DECT Multi or CT-GateCom II Multi. The charger is suitable for operation on mains voltage 100 — 240 V,
50/60 Hz. Up to three Li-lon batteries 3.7 V/1.8 Ah can be charged at the same time. For charging the Li-lon
rechargeable battery has to be removed from the CT-DECT Multi. Charging time for a discharged Li-lon battery
3.7 V/1.8 Ah is approx. 4 hours.

4, Light-emitting diode indicators
Green LED POWER (Fig. 1/e) illuminates: Charger operable upon connection to mains voltage
Red LED CHARGE (Fig. 1/d) flashes: Battery short circuit, battery overdischarged,
battery defective
Red LED CHARGE (Fig. 1/d) illuminates permanent: Battery charging in progress
Red LED CHARGE (Fig. 1/d) extinguished: Battery is fully charged
5: Commissioning and operation
a. Removing the rechargeable battery in the CT-DECT Multi or CT-GateCom II Multi: Switch off the CT-DECT
Multi resp. the CT-GateCom II Multi, if it is switched on. Press on the two ribbed spots (Fig. 2/1) on the cover of
the battery compartment and remove the cover (Fig. 2/2). Press the battery pack towards the battery contacts
(Fig. 3/1) in the battery compartment and then take the battery pack out the battery compartment (Fig. 3/2).
b. Inserting the rechargeable battery in the charger and charging the rechargeable battery: Connect the charger
via the mains socket (Fig. 1/b) and the mains cord (Fig. 1/c) to a properly installed live electrical mains socket.
Switch on the charger with the on/off switch (Fig. 1/a). The contral lamp in the switch illuminates. When
switching on the charger the red LED's CHARGE (Fig. 1/d) at each charging slot flashes shortly and the green
LED's POWER (Fig. 1/e) illuminate permanently. Insert the rechargeable battery, as shown in Fig. 4, ina
vacant charging slot. The charging process starts automatically and the red LED CHARGE for the charging
slot illuminates permanently. The charging time for a flat battery is approx. 4 hours. When the battery is fully
charged, the charger automatically switches off the charging current and the red LED CHARGE extinguishes.
After termination of charging the battery may remain in the charger. A danger of overloading does not exist.
6. Cleaning ~—- storage
First of all disconnect the unit from the mains power supply. Remove any loose dust with a soft brush. For
external cleaning use a suitable dry, clean cloth. Do not use any water or solvents (e.g. benzine, alcohol etc.). If
necessary, clean the plug contacts with a commonly available contact cleaning agent. Keep the cleaned unit ina
clean and dry place at normal room temperature and at normal relative air humidity.
