Dear Judges,

My name is Kelley Barr. I have lived in Carson City for my whole life and have made many fond
memories beginning in elementary school. My freshman year at Carson High was a bit rough
since I’m not very outgoing when you first get to know me. However it was not hard to meet
new people after overcoming this. At Carson High, I played basketball on the freshmen and
junior varsity team, as well as a couple varsity games. During the basketball season was when I
made some of the best memories at Carson High. Some of the most influential faculty I met at
CHS include Mr. Kortemeier and Mr. Vickrey. I took AP Chem in junior year, which was one of
the most difficult classes I have ever taken. Without Mr. Kortemeier's help, I don’t think I would
have been able to pass the AP exam. Mr. Vickrey was able to provide a well structured class that
inspired me to change the way I think and study.

Attending CHS has provided me many opportunities to flourish and develop as a person.
Because I didn’t play basketball this year, staying in shape was one of my priorities, which
developed my topic for this senior project. Thank you for taking the time to look over my
project.
