Ms. Taylor, a school counselor, writes a letter to a former kindergarten student, Weston Wonder, praising him for being an awesome student. She acknowledges that the end of the school year was unusual due to COVID-19 but encourages Weston to remember the good things from kindergarten by writing or drawing his favorite memory. Ms. Taylor also discusses the importance of resilience and being hopeful for the future, asking Weston to draw or write something he's hopeful for in the next school year.

Hi this is Ms. Taylor, your school counselor. You were an
AWESOME kindergarten student. We didn’t end school year the way we normally do…but that is okay, YOU are strong, smart and important. It is important to remember what good things happened in your kindergarten time. Think back on your kindergarten memories. Write or draw your favorite memory from kindergarten.
It is also important to be able to look to the future with HOPE… each one of us has a special trait inside of us called RESILIENCE
Resilience is the ability to cope when things go wrong. Resilience
means we can.. 1. Bounce back after difficult times. 2. Deal with things even if it is tough. 3. Give new things a try. Draw or Write about something you are hopeful for next school year. Have your family take a picture and email it to me at htaylor@kearsleyschools.org LOVE, Ms. Taylor
