Report Guidelines for Students

Students on attachment are expected to submit a monthly report at the end of each

month on attachment, a final industrial attachment final report, and an industrial

project report. The reports contain the following information:

 Monthly report

o Cover page with student details, name of organisation, attachment

duration and attachment period

o Introduction/summary

o Relevant duties and/or activities

o Problems

o Analysis

o Conclusion

o Each report should show a continuation from the previous month’s

activities

 Industrial Attachment Report

o Cover page with relevant details (5 marks)

o Introduction (usually 10 marks)

 Brief company background

 Major duties/activities

 Major challenges/problems

 Suggested solutions

o Main body (usually 60 marks)

 Detailed duties/activities
  Challenges/problems encountered

 Procedure followed to solve the problems

 Alternatives and reasons for choice of solution

 Analysis

 Skills gained

o Conclusions and Recommendations (10 marks)

o Take into consideration the sequencing of ideas in the whole

documents and the general layout and presentation

 Industrial Project Report

o Please use the systems analysis and design methodology for

documenting your project.
