The Calucin family is composed of five members namely; Geraldo Calucin (father),
Deveelove Calucin (mother), Daryce Calucin (eldest), Daryne Calucin (the middle child) and
Deveelove Calucin (index patient), 47 years old is a housewife. Geraldo Calucin, her
husband, 54 years old is a marine seaman. All of their children; Daryce (24 years old, Daryne
(20 years old) and Graydon (15 years old) are going to school. The Calucin family is a devoted

(Stage IV) since she has 1 teenager (15 years old) and Launching family since her 2 daughters
are both studying away from home and living on their own.
According to Mommy Deveelove, she did not have a hard time coping up with her
children since they easily listen and follow the rules she and her husband made.
1st Order Change: The family members, respectively the mother and father have transitioned
and adapted to the additional members of the family (children). They had included their children
in their daily routine and attended to their children’s needs. Also, the family works out money
matters in the family with children and shares responsibilities of family living.
2nd Order Change: The parents have adjusted their parent-child relationship towards their
eldest daughter by being more open minded and understanding to her needs and changes (ex.

FAMILY PSYCHODYNAMICS
According to Mommy Deveelove, she was 17 years old when she met her husband and
had 3 children namely Daryce, Daryne, and Graydon. Mommy Deveelove and Daddy Geraldo
are both originally from Mauban, Quezon. When Mommy Deveelove and Daddy Geraldo got
Deveelove mentioned that they work together as a team when it comes to house chores. Also,
they have not experienced any major or life changing situations in their relationship. However, if
small problems were to surface, they would immediately find a solution as a family. Lastly, she
mentioned that they can rely on their extended family for support.
According to the index patient, they do not get sick easily and cannot recall a major
illness dealt by the family, but she mentioned the all her three children have asthma acquired
from her husband’s family. Nonetheless, no hospitalization or major illnesses were noted.
Geraldo (her husband) is the least person to get sick in the family. However, Mommy Deveelove
The main source of financial support of the family are coming from Mr. Calucin. He is a
marine seaman with net income of approximately 150,000 per month. The family’s income is
just enough for them and sometimes they still manage to keep money for their savings.

The index patient, Deveelove Calucin is in the middle of the family circle. The drawn

SCREEM is a tool used in the assessment of the family as to its capacity to participate in
provision of health care or to cope with crisis. Components could be family’s weakness or
strength based from the table above where the index patient was able to be mentioned.

Preventive medicine is the science and art of preventing diseases, prolonging life and
promoting physical and mental health and efficiency. Overall, Deveelove prepare healthy meals
for her family on a daily basis since her husband and her children needs to maintain their good
health and wellness for their activities, ensuring that the family eat proper meals three times
daily with proper nutritional plate. She also instructs her children to drink a lot of water since
they are fond of eating salty and sweets. They do have vitamins for supplementation. Mommy
Deveelove and her family do not easily get sick, so she is not that worried about it. If sickness
occurs, they intended to go to the nearest health center in their area. Aside from proper
nutrition, personal hygiene is also observed in the family. She makes sure that everybody in the
house bathes regularly and as needed especially her youngest son. Nevertheless, she
maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of their home. Since they live from the province,
