The Democratic Republic Of Congo

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is

located in central Africa and is crossed
by the equator in its north-central region.
It is the third-largest country on the
continent, covering an area of 2,345,410
sq. km.
The DRC is surrounded by the Central
African Republic. On the northern east
there is Sudan, on the east you will
have Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi,
and Tanzania, on the south east.
It has a population of around 79 million. A high birth rate is causing the
population to grow quite rapidly, so there are increasing numbers of food,
clean water, education etc.
The DRC has very rich natural resources, including copper, gold, oil and
diamonds. Its fertile soil and climate make it ideal conditions for growing crops
such as sugar, cotton and even coffee. The country also has rich deposits of
mineral ores such as coltan, wolframite, which are used in laptops, mobiles
and even cameras. Despite this, it is a very poor country with a low level
development.
