fishing

How to Make: Print the fish pattern page on various

colors of cardstock. Then laminate the pieces and
cut out. Slide a paper clip in each fish.
Fishing Poles: You can buy fishing poles or make your
own. I used small wooden rods I had in my
classroom. You can also use a real stick. Then I hot
glued a string to one end and tied a magnet to the
other end.
I love to sneak in as much math into pretend play as
possible!
When students are fishing they can:
• Sort the fish by size
• Sort the fish by color
• Measure the fish
• Count how many they caught or are left in the
pond/river
