The Spider Sponge

Origin Story:

It was a normal day in the life of Spongebob Squarepants. He was on his way back from work at

the Krusty Krab when he came across a mysterious insect he’d never seen before, a spider.

Spongebob, being the mysterious little sponge he was, stopped to observe the little creature

and decided to bring it home. However, what Spongebob didn’t know is that this wasn’t a

normal spider, it was an electric one. He put the spider on his nightstand right next to him as he

soundly fell asleep that night. The spider crawled into Spongebob’s head through one of his

pores and implanted as a chip into his brain, therefore turning him half spider and giving him

several powers. This is how an innocent, young fry-cook turned into a hero, Spider Sponge.

Home Universe:

The home universe of Spider Sponge is known as Bikini Bottom and is located underwater.

Spider Sponge lived in a pineapple under the sea with his pet snail, Gary. His passion was

cooking Krabby Patties at the Krusty Krab with his fellow employee and neighbor, Squidward

(who hated him), and his boss, Mr. Krabs, the most money-thirsty sea creature in the whole

ocean.

Sidekick:

His sidekick started off as his pet snail, Gary, but is now known as The Speedy Snail. His powers

include having a completely protective and reflective shell, and being the speediest snail in the

entire ocean, with help from his slime, thus becoming the Speedy Snail.
Major Antagonist:

His major antagonist was his former neighbor, Squidward Tentacles. Because of Spongebob and

his dumb best friend and also their neighbor, Patrick, Squidward was never able to get one

relaxed or calm day ever again. Spongebob always got Squidward into the worst situations and

having to deal with him both at work and home was a handful. Squidward always wanted to live

in high luxury and power, but got stuck living in between Spongebob and Patrick and working as

a cashier at the Krusty Krab. When Squidwardward heard about Spongebob’s rise to greatness

as The Spider Sponge, jealousy and envy got the best of him and he decided to go make Spider

Sponge’s job and life a living hell and assured he never got to relax, just like he did to him.

Mini Story:

It was yet another day of fighting crime in the life of Spider Sponge. Being responsible for both

the safety of Bikini Bottom and the world above the sea was very hard work. While he was

wrapping up fighting a crime in the outside world, he got a call from his boss, Spiderman, that

there was trouble at Bikini Bottom, and him and The Speedy Snail needed to go since they were

the only ones able to breathe both above and under water. Spider Sponge quickly finished up

and dove back into the ocean with his loyal sidekick, The Speedy Snail. He swam down to find

Squidward waiting for him.

“Well, hello there Spider Sponge, what a pleasant surprise seeing you here”, Squidward said.

“Hello, Squidward. I take it you’re the causing all the chaos down here”, Spider Sponge replied.
“Indeed, Spider Sponge. I’m giving you trouble, just like all the trouble you gave me. How does

it feel never being able to just get one minute of proper relaxation. It sucks, doesn’t it.

Welcome to how my life has been all these years!” Squidward exclaimed as he took a step

aside, to show the hostage, Spider Sponge’s best friend, Patrick Star.

“You know what to do, I’ll distract him”, Spider Sponge said as he glanced at The Speedy Snail.

“Oh come on Squidward, we weren’t all that bad. You have to admit, Patrick and I were the

most fun neighbors you’ll ever have! Oh, and speaking about Patrick” Spider Sponge said, taking

a step aside to reveal his best friend, “my Speedy Snail here brought him back from right under

your nose as you were too distracted being mad at me. Remember Squidward, I always win.

Hence, why I have a cool super name and you don’t, see ya later, neighbor!”, Spider Sponge

sarcastically said as he glided away with Patrick and The Speedy Snail on a spiderweb.
