    This research proposal examines the relationship between listening to rap music and increased violence. Specifically, it will analyze lyrics from before and after the rise of gangsta rap to see if they correlate with more misogynistic or violent themes over time. The study acknowledges that music alone does not cause violence, but will explore if repeated dopamine release from listening could raise blood pressure in the same way as other stressors like smoking or obesity.
