REVIEWS :
4.0  Satisfied with the wholesome academic, non-academic opportunities and industry
exposure provided.
Verified Radha, 28 Feb 2019 | MBA in Tourism Management - Batch of 2020
Placements 4/5
Infrastructure 5/5
Faculty & Course Curriculum 4/5
Crowd & Campus Life 3/5
Value for Money 4/5
Placements : Eminent companies like Thomas Cook, Evolve Back and SOTC visit Christ for recruitment. Roles
offered primarily are sales, marketing and operational positions in the organisations. The highest package being
Rs. 50,000 per month and the lowest being Rs. 30,000 per month. The package offered depends on the skill sets
and achievements of the students. The department of tourism makes sure that almost everyone who applies for
placements gets placed. Students are expected to finish a minimum of 1 internship of 45 days, during their course.
The stipends offered during internships are a bit low. Both internships and job placements are done by the
placement cell headed by the academic coordinator and a set of placement coordinators selected from classes.

Infrastructure : Being a new campus, the infrastructure is up to excellence, endowed with the latest technology
and gadgets, and kept in good condition. The main and mini auditoriums are furnished with the latest technology
making the experience worth every session conducted in the auditorium. Wi-Fi facility is available all over the
campus after students get their laptops configured with the IT department. Wi-Fi can be accessed in the library
and computer labs as well, wherein, there are ample computers for students to use if they do not bring their
laptops to college. There are 4 canteens on the campus that rank lower when compared to the other campuses
since the campus is smaller. But the quality of food, the variety and quantity offered are good. The library is
spread over two floors enriched with knowledgeable and useful books for every course. The library has ample
seating area, and as I mentioned before, there are many computers provided in the library as well for students to
use and refer. Hostel rooms are affordable, are kept clean, but the food is not provided. Hence, students have to
eat either from the college canteen or find options outside the college. Each classroom has a projector that helps
teachers use technology as an aid to improve the facilitation of education. Medical facilities are available
throughout the working hours of college.

Faculty : Some of the faculty members are experienced, and they are transferred from Hour Road Campus and
some new teachers were hired after the functioning of this campus began. The department of tourism has a good
set of teachers who are well-qualified and adept at the topic at hand, research work and career, education as well
as grievance guidance. They are approachable and helpful for not only academics but private issues as well. The
teaching methods used are not only lecture-based but incorporated with debates taken forward by students for
which the teachers assign students with reading materials and research work to have prior knowledge on the
topics to be discussed. Industry exposure is provided in plenty. The course requires a minimum of 1 internship to
be completed by the students which helps them to use the classroom experience in the industry to gain an idea of
work life and experienced guidance. In the second year, the first half of the day is to be spent in class and the
second half of the day to be spent by the student working in a travel or tour company. This part-time industry
exposure is conducted for all the second year students. This new idea will be started this year, my batch being the
first ones to try out this idea of the part-academic and part-job method of learning. We have sent out our interests
in the companies we want to experience exposure in. Our course curriculum starts with the basics and then
spreads out to the specifics, hence can be applied by non-commerce students as well. I did my undergraduate in
humanities, B.A. English Honors but the curriculum was designed such that I did not face any problem in
switching my education from humanities to business studies. There are students from science background as well
in my class, who are not at any loss due to being from a different discipline.

Other : The MBA tourism course focuses on all curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities which
provide students with varied experience and a chance to develop their skills in accordance with their interests.
Several events, both collegiate and inter-collegiate, are held throughout the year, wherein, the students get to
participate and increase their achievements. Another set of events are conducted and coordinated by the students
for other colleges that come in to participate. These events help the students to form departments like marketing,
promotions, finance, logistics and hospitality that help students to hone managing, communication and
interpersonal skills as they interact with the students of other colleges and make contacts with the industry in the
process. The campus is an inter-disciplinary campus with both social sciences and business studies courses. Such
a campus was started for the students to learn and benefit from the differences, the inter-disciplinarity being the
strength to their development as a wholesome student. The campus is well connected with the other Christ
campuses through a series of inter-collegiate events held across the year. Students can apply for scholarships
based on either their academic achievements or their extracurricular achievements which provide opportunities
to students with different sets of talent and interests, at an equal level. There are several opportunities for the
students to display their non-academic talent and hone it. Debates, quizzes, cultural events like dance, music,
management games and much more are conducted.

4.6  Best college for both fun and academics.

Placements : Christ University offers good rate of placements for its students. Almost all top tourism companies
would come for campus recruitment such as Orange County, Thomas cook, Kuoni SOTC, SABRE, etc. Starting
package would be around 3.5 LPA and the top package can go up to 7 LPA. A very small percent of students get
into internship via college authorities.

Infrastructure : Christ University, being one of the top MBA colleges in South India, gives importance to its
infrastructure. The university is popular for the same. It has 3 campuses which are fully equipped with all the
modern technologies. Hostels provided by Christ University for both girls and boys are exceptionally well
appreciated. University provides banking services, medical facilities, fully WiFi enabled campus, and also amazing
libraries are available too.

Faculty : Faculty members of Christ University are highly talented and knowledgeable. Most of them have come
from good industrial background or academic performance. They are very friendly and can be approached by the
students easily at any time. Christ University provides immense opportunities for the students to showcase their
talents in various fests and competitions such as exodus, blossoms, in blooms, darpan, tourism day celebrations,
etc. Faculty take pride in encouraging students to take part in extracurricular activities. As a part of the course,
students are taken for an international trip which again makes the course attractive to the students.

Placements : Placements were very good, and the placement cell has invited good and reputable companies on
the campus for placements. As they have promised about the 100% placements, our college fulfilled it in a very
effective and positive manner. Companies which visited has offered good salary packages to all the students.

Infrastructure : Our college is not just a college; it's a whole universe within the campus. The infrastructure is
amazing and of high-quality. It is of high standards. It has everything from the well-centralised cooling systems to
the hygienic and clean washrooms. It provides every facility that is needed by the students. The security is
amazing from sniper dogs to the Marchell's, who are roaming throughout the campus all times.

Faculty : Faculty is well-educated and experienced. They provide us with vast and extra knowledge. They discuss
what is happening outside and help us to connect with the actual reality and what we are studying. They help us
with everything and clear all our doubts, whether we ask them once, twice or infinite times.

Other : Amity is known for its amazing festive environment and events, which are held throughout the year. The
crowd and connectivity are very good. Apart from the studies, it also focuses on the overall growth of the students,
and encourage them to participate in various events and sports.

3.2  Make or break: It is you who determines how your 2/3 years at the university go

Placements : Placements can be good but can be better. Both in terms of the company and the place of interview.
One big disadvantage is that you can't sit for further placements if you get selected for one company, even if you
don't want to join the company.
The salary is very average unless you are very good.

Infrastructure : The infrastructure of Amity University, Noida is second to none. I am sure every Amitian will
agree to that. Parking spaces are huge but still, it gets overcrowded and people park the cars outside, which in
turn leads to traffic jams and what not. Classrooms are good, big and spacious with all the needed equipment
there, in working condition. Wi-Fi disturbs sometimes.

Faculty : Faculty members in Amity University, Noida are great, except a few, which is the case for every other
university in India. They are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching method used by the teachers vary
individually. PPTs, notes, etc. are given. The student-faculty ratio is 30-40:1

Other : Transportation is a big problem for those who don't stay in Noida. Lots of traffic on the road.
Food stalls nearby are okay-ish.
Amity is a good place for the sports enthusiasts. With almost all the sports available and played by the students.
The hostel is strict and serves only veg food.
Many celebrities come to Amity University, Noida for promotions.

Anushree Joshi
Class of BA (TA) - 2013

The First day I entered in the Amity Campus, I found myself in a totally different environment as college life is totally different from
the school life. I was very nervous, but after few days I got the inspiration from my Director Sir as well as all my faculty members. A
special thanks to Masters Batch of 2009, who were very friendly by nature. Amity University is simply a knowledgeable university
and helps grooming a student’s personality, be it in visit to conferences or doing internships in various tour companies. Thanks
AITT.

Saurabh Singhal
Class of BA (TA) - 2011

The day I had entered Amity, I was bit nervous, but later, enjoyed the atmosphere of AITT. Real success comes from the mentors
(our faculties) here, as they urged the students to have a goal in life and do the future planning accordingly. I had a good experience
studying the Bachelors course, as it has helped me in improving my personality and skills as well as in gaining practical experience
in tourism industry too. I must say thanks to Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism for changing my life in a better way.

Amity has always been a home away from home, and from the first day itself, faculty has been like a family to me. With there
support & guidance, I see a brighter future for myself upahead.

Bijoy Vijay Raghavan

Class of BA (TA) - 2013

It's my privilege to be a part of such a renowned institution. I still remember how nervous I was on my first day to college as I was a
complete stranger to this new city. But amity was so warm to me.  So many endless memories, friends, faculty members added this
more to the experience.
Amity has taught me to tackle many problems simultaneously and it has helped me grow my as an individual. I would like to
express my gratitude to our Dean Prof. (Dr.) M. Sajnani Sir for providing us platform where we can interact directly to the industry
experts and learn so much from them. Thank you Amity for adding so much of positivity to my life. Today I am a confident travel
trade professional because of the guidance I received from you.

Ms. Khushboo Singh

Master of Travel and Tourism Management (MTTM)
Batch : 2017-2019

Home is the word, that closest describes my alma mater. My family of teachers and friends, is what made my two years here, one of
my most treasured and productive phases of my so far lived life and there is a longing to come back. One of the best qualities i
observed was of inclusion, and acceptance of whoever you are and whatever you want to be or do in your professional endeavour.
A place where you are encouraged to follow your passion, be the true you, break the chains of convention and yet uphold the
wealth of our culture and traditions, and make the world see the magic of your originality. The encouragement and motivation
received from faculty was immense. They are as approachable as your own family. The value of being independant and a self
starter, is instilled down to our very being, the need for innovation being our motto and creed.
Personally, i grew from being an introvert, dormant inactive self to someone very active, included and in charge of many
responsibilties, which i never thought i could do justice to. The direct credit for this goes to our ever-so-inspiring Dean Prof. (Dr.)
M. Sajnani and his team of very able family of experienced and knowledgable teachers. The events and projects, are managed
almost entirely by students themselves, which reflects the faculty's dedication and drive to impart practical learning and also the
level of trust, that the faculty bestow upon us. The regular interaction through seminars with industry professionals kept us abreast
of the advances and requirements in our industry and helped us mould our minds and personalites to adapt to the changing
competitive environment. There are limitless options for all round development through extra co-curricular activites and such
clubs, like debate, phorography, dance, shooting, swimming, sports, and even clubs for socialising and unwinding and so many
more, which make for the completeness in academic life. I felt I was in good hands academically and on my way to become a
resourceful professional, to be able to contribute value to the growth of our industry and bring good name to all who we represent.
