CARBON FOOTPRINTS
HOW ARE CARBON FOOTPRINTS CALCULATED?

The calculation of CO2 emissions is obtained through

complex measurements endorsed by the UN. Aspects such as
number of vehicles, the impact of technology on the
environment, among others, are included. This measure is
expressed in tons.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE WITH

OTHER REFERENCES?
AVERAGES BETWEEN COUNTRIES

World Top 5 Countries: China (27.2%), United States (14.6%),

India (6.8%), Russia (4.7%) & Japan (3.3%).
Latin America: Mexico (1.4%) & Brazil (1.3%)
Average annual tons of CO2 from Colombia: 8.8%

MY HOUSEHOLD'S FOOTPRINT
WE DEFINITELY MUST IMPROVE

We emit 21.69 tons of CO2 annually, that is, 12 tons more than
the national average (Colombia emits approximately 9 tons)
although 2 tons less than the world average (23.35 tons of
CO2). This is that my household's contribution to carbon
emissions is not significant.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO SOLVE THIS

SERIOUS PROBLEM

Replace conventional light bulbs with low consumption bulbs.

Turn off the lights I don't need.
Unplug the TV if I'm not watching
Turn off computers when not in use.

WE SHOULD ALSO...
Shower maximum 5 minutes. Not only to save water also the
energy needed to heat it.
Use more public transport or share my car with those on my route.
Walking or cycling for short distances.
Take my car to the workshop regularly. Because if the car works
well it generates less emissions.
Reduce the number of airplane flights. Try to find a direct flight
instead of one with stopovers.
