Campaign Title: LESS PAPER Campaign

Objectives: to educate the students about the reduction of paper usage.
In today’s electronic age, people are still using paper. From our newspapers, magazines, paper bag, books,
notebooks, paper napkins and a lot more. Paper is everywhere and most of them are ending up in our landfill
creating a very large amount of paper waste.
To produce paper, it involves cutting down trees. 12000 sheets of paper is equal to 1 tree. 24.7 million
Trees are cut in a day and 900 million trees are cut annually, and that caused us Deforestation.
Deforestation is a permanent removal of trees and one of the main environmental problems we’re facing in
these times. 14% of all global wood harvest is used to make paper.
Is it really worth it to cut down our life saving trees for this product?
So what can we do?
Home and Office There are many ways to reduce the use of paper in the office and at home.
1. Avoid Printing Emails and Web Pages
Avoid printing emails and web pages unnecessarily. Instead, archive your emails and bookmark your web
pages for easy reference.
2. Go Paperless with Electronic Bills
Bills like Cignal, PLDT, Globe Telecom, pay it online or download the mobile app on google play store.
3. Recycle
The most basic way to reduce paper consumption. Make paper handicrafts or book covers out of old newspapers or
magazines.
School Management
1. Posting School Paper Article on School Website
Students nowadays are more engaged on their phones especially on their social media. So it is better to just post it
online for the students to get information faster.
2. E-Student Profiling System (Student Information, Parent Information, Academic Information)
Easier and faster way of identifying the high interest of the students.
3. Sending softcopy on e-mails rather than printing hardcopy
Sending softcopy on emails like G-mail or Y-mail is more convenient for students. Today, printing hardcopy is
expensive. Old printed documents are just being discarded on trash bins after years.
We should stop and think about what we are doing. The world is getting more and more polluted. We
should save the trees for future generations. Our ancestors left a beautiful ecology for us. Why ruin it? In addition,
trees are an important place for living systems including us.
