1. POWER SUPPLY
These specifications conform to the IEC standard, CEI IEC 60204-1, 4th edition, 1997-
10.

1.1. GENERALITIES
The HASLER installation must have its own power supply. It must be separate from that
which supplies rotating motors, machines, electromagnetic relays or fluorescent tubes,
etc.

The grounding cable must be separate for the HASLER equipment.

Its cross section must be defined according to the following table:

Cross-sectional area of phase conductors S < 16 16 < S < 35 S < 35

supplying the equipment [mm2]
Minimum cross-sectional area of external
protective conductor [mm2] S 16 S/2

1.2. VOLTAGES
The following nominal voltages are possible for the HASLER equipement (one per
equipment in general)

P+N+PE: 110 VAC 230 VAC

3P+N+PE: 400 VAC

It must stay within a tolerance of ± 10% of the nominal voltage.

Other external voltages are possible with transformers, maximum 500VAC.

1.3. FREQUENCY
The possible nominal frequencies are 50Hz and 60Hz. They must respect the following
conditions:

• 0,99 to 1,01 of nominal frequency continuously.

• 0,98 to 1,02 short time.

1.4. VOLTAGE INTERRUPTION

Supply interrupted or at zero voltage for not more than 3 ms at any random time in the
supply cycle. There shall be at least 1 s between successive dips.

_________________________________________________________________

1.5. VOLTAGE IMPULSES

Not to exceed 1.5 ms in duration with a rise/fall time between 500 ns and 500 µs and
peak value not more than 200% of the rated r.m.s. supply voltage.

1.6. OFF-PEAK VOLTAGE

Not to exceed 20% of the crest’s supply voltage on more than one period. Between two
successive off-peaks it must pass at least 1s.

1.7. REMARKS
If the power supply is subject to micro power failures, overvoltages or EMI problems
than those mentioned in the technical specifications, it is also necessary to provide:

• an isolating transformer for transitory impulsions

• a static converter with battery back-up

The internal voltages of the equipment 230 VAC, 24VDC, ± 15VDC, 5VDC and others,
are reserved for the exclusive use of Hasler.

It is strictly forbidden to use them for other applications.

2. TEMPERATURES
2.1. WORKING
+5 °C to +40 °C, the average over a 24 hour period < 35 °C without air conditioning.

2.2. STORAGE
-10 °C to +55 °C, can be as high as 70 °C for periods of less than 24 hours.

3. AMBIENT CONDITIONS
3.1. GÉNÉRAL CONDITIONS
The installation should be in a dry, non corrosive, atmosphere.

3.2. DEGREE OF PROTECTION

The degree of protection for the motors is IP55.
The degree of protection for the switch cabinets is IP55.

_______________________________________________________________

3.3. RELATIVE HUMIDITY

The electrical equipment is capable of operating correctly within a relative humidity
range of 30% to 95%, non condensing.

3.4. VERTICAL VIBRATIONS

• sinusoidal, minimum frequency 13 Hz

• random (shock); maximum time for return to zero from acceleration = 40ms

4. WIRING BETWEEN THE WEIGHFEEDER AND THE

ELECTONIC CABINET
• The cable which convey the control signals must be wired separately from the power
supply cables. If this condition cannot be met, then separate grounded steel tubing
must be provided for each group of cables.

• The cable section, the number of conductors, the shielding, the type of cable to be
used, external field and disturbance immunity as well as capacitive norms must be
conform to the specifications shown in the wiring diagrams delivered with the
installation.

5. GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
Non conformance to the above mentioned specifications may result in the annulment
of the guarantee.

The material is not guaranteed against:

manipulation or connection errors modifications or interventions done by

non-qualified personnel.
wilful damages shocks
power supply failures water damage
lightening

HASLER reserves the right to modify the above specifications without previous notice.
