Studio and Recording

When you’re assessing your own videos or giving feedback to a fellow instructor you can use this
checklist to quickly review all the important criteria for good A/V quality. With these criteria you
can give very targeted feedback and identify areas to improve. To get a better understanding of
the key concepts included in this checklist, we recommend watching the Udemy course “Video
Production Fundamentals”.

Audio Quality:

Audio is free of echo

Audio is free of background noise


Setting up your
Studio Volume is the right level

Audio is free of “pops”

Video Quality:

Subject in video is well lit

Camera is well placed

Camera is steady

Appropriate / clean background

Font / images are legible

Audio Quality:
Recording and Audio is free of distortion
Export Settings
Audio is free from background hiss

Sound comes out of both speakers

Video Quality:

Video resolution is HD (720p or higher)

Video fills the whole frame of the video player
