Runtime Container – Base Cycle Verification

The base cycle for a runtime container can be viewed via the Diagnostic View or
Administration Console.

To view the base cycle for a runtime container via the Diagnostic View, proceed as
follows,

1. Activate the Diagnostic View from the Workbench menu, Application Æ Diagnostic
View.

Note: Below the menu bar the Diagnostic View window is separated into two parts, the
Tree View on the left and the detailed information on the right. The Tree View contains
the diagnostic hierarchy. Every possible source of diagnostic information, diagnostic
component of the Automation Function Block, hardware or module proxy, or alarm
system, is found via the diagnostic hierarchy.

2. Select the Runtime Container Node that displays the diagnostic information of the
runtime container.
3. Click on the Diagnostic tab to view the diagnostic page for the runtime container.

4. The diagnostic port base cycle (ms) shows the base cycle configured for the runtime
container.

To view the base cycle for a runtime container via the Administration Console, proceed
as follows,

Note: The administration console can be run by a user on the Application Server, and
may be started manually by a user from the Windows desktop.

1. Click on the Start button at the bottom left of the screen.


2. Select Programs Æ SPPA-T3000 Æ Administration Æ AdminConsole.
3. Once the administration console is open, navigate through the Configurable
Components, and find the host on which the Runtime Container is assigned.
4. Click on the Runtime Container to select it and the parameters will become visible
in the Configuration Panel.

5. The parameter Cycle1 (ms) shows the base cycle configured for the runtime
container.
6. To exit the administration console, select File then Exit from the drop down menu.

Note: Base cycle for a S7 runtime Container cannot be edited after the S7 runtime
container is created. The S7 runtime container must be deleted and recreated in order to
modify or edit the base cycle.
