MODULE 3
3 EXERCISE A

IT WAS ALL A DREAM

Music production shouldn’t feel like work, and it doesn’t have to. However,
you’ll be able to get to where you want to go much quicker if you have a
structured plan to follow. Now that you know what you want out of it, it’s
much easier to understand how much you need to put into it.

One of my favorite Denzel Washington Quotes is: Dreams without goals

remain dreams.” So stop thinking about it and let’s find a way to make it
happen.

We all have time commitments, and some more than others. If you have a
family, a demanding job, etc it can be difficult to make time for music. But if
you treat it like you’re learning a new skill and make it a priority you’ll reach
your objective much faster. I know that sounds rudimentary, but use the
space below to create three concrete goals. Make them as specific as
possible. Examples might be:

“I’m going to finish one beat a week” OR “I’ll produce an hour a day”

MODULE 3
3 EXERCISE B

ON TO THE NEXT ONE

Cool, so we’ve got out big goals and our commitment down. In the first module we
put together our vision. Now, where do we want take this thing? What kind of a
climb is this going to be, are we going on a day hike at the local park or are we
shooting for Everest? It’s the final module. Let’s pin down the details.

There are a lot of concepts covered in this course and in the walkthroughs. It can
be a lot to try and implement everything at once. Let’s take it from the top.

Following the six steps of building out a track is a great start. You can also rapidly
speed up your learning process (and quality of music) by focusing on one aspect of
your game at a time. You’ll increase all your skills as you continue to create, and
approaching it in pieces makes it a hell of a lot easier. It also gives you a good place
to start from.

Write your game plan for the next four weeks. These can be either beats you’re
going to be remaking or different elements of your production you want to dive into.

Example:

Week 1 - Drum Patterns

Week 2 - Sampling
Week 3 - …

MODULE 3
3 THANK YOU

DON’T FORGET ABOUT ME WHEN YOU’RE FAMOUS

Deal?

Alright, maybe your goal isn’t to be famous. Or maybe it is. It doesn’t

matter. What’s most important is that you finished the course and you’re
ready to kick some ass.

I appreciate you trusting the process and taking your shit seriously enough
to invest in the course. I can’t wait to hear what you do with it.

This is an excellent starting point. However, if you’re looking to fastback

your success even more I also coach producers 1-on-1. This can be either
creative services or with marketing your music online.

We’ll create a custom roadmap for your production and have video
sessions where I give you feedback on your beats and even mix them for
you in real time to see what you need to work on. Alternatively, I’ll give you
the strategies I’ve found most successful to get your music heard and turn
a side-hustle into a full-time gig.

Lastly, speaking of feedback. If you have some ideas on what you liked
and/or what I can do better please let me know.

kia@orionbeats.com or Kia Orion on social just about everywhere.

I couldn’t afford trophies for everyone but looked into it. You’ll have to take
my word for it. I’m looking forward to hearing what you cook up, see you
on the other side x)
