New QCAA Senior Curriculum

Senior Schooling in Queensland has undergone significant changes over recent

years, including the development of the Queensland Certificate in Education (QCE)
which is the culminating certificate issued to students at the end of Year 12,
providing they have met the necessary qualifying criteria.

In addition, there have been very significant changes to the administering of,
timing and expectations regarding the assessment of Year 12 performance.
Queensland has administered the OP system since 1992, so, for the first time in a
long time, Queenslanders will have children sitting heavily weighted external
examinations. Senior student performance will now be communicated through
on the Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) as opposed to the phased
out OP ranking system.
