PURPOSE STATEMENT

This portfolio is designed to be an algorithmic outline of my evolution from a teacher to

an educator having been enrolled in the Diploma of Education Programme 2019-2020.

Firstly, it would illustrate my passion for and the high esteem to which I hold the

profession, in the letter to myself, my personal teaching philosophy and teaching metaphor. It

would proceed to demonstrate the improvements I have made in the theoretical aspects as an

educator. Growth would be demonstrated in my unit planning skills, lesson planning skills,

concept and task analysis and in designing appropriate assessments conforming to the principles

outlined in the Programme.

My abilities in the classroom would have improved with all the experience gained

through fields days, being exposed to different teaching strategies within different school

cultures. A noticeable change would be observed with the frequent integration of curriculum and

technology in lessons. All of this change would be evident in my students’ new attitude towards

the subject.

Being a student for a year in this Programme would enrich my vision for myself in the

profession. I would gain wisdom to propagate my subject in the most efficient manner possible.
