An Arduous Journey

by Hael Dragons
I thought, being a teacher would be a burden. It is just like any other profession that you can have. It is just like
any ordinary job that any other person can do. Being an ordinary teacher is the first plan. I will just do my duties to teach
and compute for their grades. And I just consider being a teacher for a salary. But all these thoughts become bubbles that
explodes in less than a second when the real journey of being a teacher has begun.
But before I became a teacher, I had experienced different kinds of struggles along the way.
Firstly, it is really hard to be apart from a mother. My mother had gone overseas in order to support my needs in
school during my middle school.
Secondly, my father left us for another family. It was the darkest moment of my life that turns to be my
motivation for achieving success.
Thirdly, I lost two best friends at a time for doing the right thing. One of the hardest decisions I’ve made.
Those struggles that strikes me made me decide to relocate. So I found a school to give my full service to them.
And I became an adviser of a class.
When I started knowing them deeper and deeper, I easily got attached to them. In just a couple months, I don’t
know but I trust them that much. I even cried in front of them showing my weaknesses ‘cause they aren’t just a student for
me – they are a family. They filled the love that I craved for a long time – the love of a mother, a father, a sibling, a child
and a friend.
I know I have this crazy feeling called Love for them. And I didn’t regret my decision for pursuing on becoming a
teacher because I have now 31 child and friend. I really thank God so much for giving me these people.
I find myself back in the fray.
