Clinimetrics is the study focused on measurement issues of clinical

phenomena in clinical medicine, including disease status or severity,
pathophysiologic findings and symptoms… (Henrica et al. 2003). Quality is an
important in the discipline of clinimetrics, which can be derived into quality of
instruments for measuring and the quality of performance of the actual
measuring, the clinical measurement instruments refer to X-ray and other
imaging techniques and patient history and physical examination performed
by physiotherapist, whereas the quality of performance of actual
measurement is related to the expertise of the examiner to carry out the
measurements, the amount of attention devoted to the questionnaire and the
number of sample size (Henrica et al. 2003).

The most significant advantage of clinimetric to physiotherapist would be the

provision of a systemic way to evaluate the clinical phenomena of patients.
Dekker et al. argued that clinimetric promote the uniformity of clinical
measurement which is expected to facilitate the communication between
healthcare professionals (2005).
