INTRODUCTION

In the formation of personality, a series of factors intervene that not only shape the personality in

one way or another, but can also influence the appearance of a disorder.

Although the genetic factors exert an influence, the effect of the environment is also very

important, which means that the personality is not something fixed with what we come to the

world, but, in large part, it is influenced and modified by the experiences lived

GENERAL AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

1. Identify which are the main symptoms that appear in personality disorders

2. Recognize the main characteristics and symptoms of different types of personality disorder
CAUSES OF PERSONALITY DISORDER

Personality is the combination of thoughts, emotions and behaviors that make us unique. It is the

way you see, understand and relate to the outside world, as well as the way you see yourself. The

personality is formed during childhood and it affects the interaction of the following:

• The genes. It is possible that certain personality traits are transmitted from parents to

children through inherited genes. Sometimes these traits are called your temperament.

• The environment. This includes the surroundings where you grow up, the events that took

place and the relationships with family and other people.

It is thought that personality disorders are caused by a combination of these genetic and

environmental influences. It is possible that genes make you vulnerable to developing a

personality disorder, and a life situation can trigger development.

• Conclusions

Personality disorders are more common than is believed since this occurs without showing more

evidence as in other cases of psychological problems.
