Secondary Languages Taught in Schools

Secondary language taught in high schools and carried on into further education is

definitely beneficial to many not only to have an understanding on a foreign language but there is

potentially a higher probability on getting a certain job one is applying for if you have a well

background on another language. If one is to turn in a resume and the employer is in knowledge

of the worker having background on fluently speaking another language, they are more likely to

get the job position. Secondary language is good for international students, many programs are

offered, and this not only promotes but educates students to learn a foreign language while in

college earning their degree.

For starters, many international kids study abroad and under some circumstances either

come into the United States or go out of the country. While students going in to college solely

feel as if they need to focus on their career, many international students should or already do

base their time on improving the English language ands skills that will help them be successful.

There are several ways international students many learn. Secondary language learning isn’t

always the easiest for one to do but, if one wants to learn bad enough the effort will be put into it.

From studies, international students seem to be more independent not only as a person but also

when it comes to learning. That then leads to the learning being taught is more efficient and

effective.
Continuing, there are many programs offered if one is interested in learning a secondary

language. Personally, Bradford Area Highschool offers a Spanish course for all four years of

high school, if wished upon one to take. K-12 programs are offered through curriculum,

instructions, and professional development. Furthering on the education, colleges are coming up

with new ideas of how to teach a foreign language in more up-beat, non-boring ways. There are

many learning styles available for students and language learning strategies. In an article I read,

Fukushima stated that there are new learning applications being released where professional

voice actors teach not only learning with motivation but engagement in what the student is

currently learning.

Following through, some colleges even offer two, seven-week sessions per semester for

students who would like to personalize the instruction. While not all programs may not be shown

when walking through the doors of a college based room, many are out there and available.

Lastly, secondary language learning may also promote and encourage students with many

things. A lot of job opportunities are out there for young adults to earn money solely based on

helping other men and women learn and have a background on another language. Many teachers

and researchers motivate students to learn, that is part of their job. There is multi-media content

out there to get students to want to learn.

Secondary language learning is beneficial for many as stated earlier in this essay for

international students, many types of programs are offered in different learning styles, and

learning a foreign language is encouraging. After reading, hopefully one is now more informed

on what this world ahs to offer and how good of an idea it would be for one to learn another

language in their lifetime, preferably at the college age and level.
