Math 1040 reflection

Tanner Peterson

Period 7

The information I learned this year has been more applicable to life than any other class

before. Learning statistics and possibilities are important to learn for more than just math class.

Through things like the learning normal distribution and contingency tables, the expansion of the

units kept occurring.

Each unit would build on the one from the last and it made the learning easier. I made

sure to understand each unit and it made the next easier than the last. By the time we got to the

last unit I was able to do the confidence interval and hypothesis tests without problem. I found

that it was possible to do math that I hadn’t learned to do before.

Once I got to the final exam I was able to do better than I had on a lot of the other tests.

This was because I learned everything I needed to and had the resources I needed. Because the

entire last quarter was online, it was easier but also harder in different ways. I had a lot more

learning to do on my own, but it also gave me more time to do it.

All of the units have been important to my learning and the simple fact that I have had the

thinking process has helped along with the math. Sometimes the process of thinking helps to

expand your brain and make other problems seem easier. Sometimes things will pop up that math

will need to be used to solve a problem. A lot of that math will be used in life and there are times

that this knowledge will be useful in these situations.
