CASE 1

An 86 y/o patient comes into the emergency room department


saying “ Hindi ko masyadong mailabas ang plema ko, halos
mahirapan na ako huminga”. Upon assessment: (-) cyanosis, (-)
alar flaring and patient verbalized excessive cough production
with yellowish-greenish thick phlegm. In addition, he claimed to
have nasal congestion.

Vital signs as follows: BP: 150/100; PR: 118 bpm; RR: 26 bpm;
O2 saturation: 93%
