Introduction
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the progress of this year's work
trip to the US, the work experience with Tesla Motors and to suggest any improvements.
About the company
Tesla Motors, Inc. is an American clean energy and electric vehicle manufacturer
headquartered in Palo Alto, California. The company is specialized in the production of
electric cars, the transport of battery energy and the manufacturing of solar panels. And all
of this under the incredible leadership of Elon Musk.
My work experience
I had been assigned to three different departments during my six weeks with Tesla Motors.
Customer support
My first placement was in the Customer Service Department. Here I was working with
unsatisfied customers, trying to resolve their issues.
Marketing
Here I learned how to use incredible marketing models rather than wasting billions of dollars
on promotions and advertising. It was really useful for me to know, and hopefully to use it in
the near future.
Design
In the design department I assisted the car designers and often shared my opinion as a
youngster. I even got a sneak peak at some unreleased cars.
General overview
Overall I considered my time very beneficial with Tesla Motors. The staff was very polite,
welcoming and very knowledgeable. However, I think I would have gained more if my work
experience had been focused on a maximum of 2 departments.
Conclusion
To sum up, Tesla Motors is an exciting and totally appropriate corporation to do work
experience in. I do not hesitate to suggest that we send more students in the future to the
company.
