Within my 4 years in High School at Foothills Christian High School, I have lived by the

“SLO’s” or Student Learning Objectives. The first one of the acronym is Faithful Followers of

Christ. I have lived as a Faithful Follower by living a biblical worldview, global missions

orienting and by defending the faith. I attempt to live life by the verse of 1 Peter 3:15. If you do

not know what that verse is about, it is basically saying that you should always be ready to give a

response or defense about our faith, and to do it with respect. This is hard to do and means that I

have to keep my cool, this verse means a lot to me because as a Catholic Christian in a Christian

school can be hard. I am constantly being questioned about my faith and people make

presumptions of my faith and they are often untrue. Last winter, I went with my dad and a couple

of family friends down to Mexico to help build houses for those in need. It was a trip that I

would not change for anything, I thoroughly enjoyed my time down there and would go back

down there in a heartbeat. By going down there and helping those out who are in need, I have

gained a new respect for the opportunities I have been given and will no longer take for granted

what I have and the luxuries I have. Throughout my entire High School career, I have probably

missed church a total of 5 times. I have also participated in my youth group and have helped out

with the VBS at the church. I do not take lightly the responsibility I have as a leader in my

community, I do my best to make sure I do everything in my power to help out in my

community.
