To Whom It May Concern:

It is my honor to recommend Jackie Jamieson for an English teaching position. I have had the pleasure to
know and teach Jackie Jamieson in the College of Education this past quarter at DePaul University. As an
English Department Instructional Coach, English Teacher for the past fifteen years, and an Adjunct
Professor, I have been fortunate to mentor Jackie Jamieson throughout her final practitioner course at
DePaul, and I have experienced first hand how talented and how full of potential she is.

Jackie brings energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to our class and to her student teaching experience.
She works hard, is always positive, and desires to grow as an educator and positively impact the students
she serves. She has shown so much dedication and initiative since the moment I met her. This is to be
expected of any successful member of an organization, and in this regard, Jackie has fully immersed
herself in developing her craft as an effective English teacher as seen through her coursework and her
participation in my class. Be it in the intricate development of curriculum, interdisciplinary teaching, or
figuring out the best practices for struggling or marginalized students, Jackie consistently engages in
reflection and embeds her knowledge in scholarship while always willing to engage in collaboration with
her peers to develop meaningful content and curriculum. This speaks to her overall intellect and ability to
learn, attributes that will serve her well in any secondary institution in which she teaches.

While Jackie Jamieson is a new teacher, she has shown how dedicated she is to be an effective teacher.
What impresses me most about Jackie is her ability to connect to her peers, create thoughtful curriculum,
and her desire to develop meaningful relationships with the students she serves. This motivation is the
recipe for success as a teacher. Jackie will be the teacher who constantly strives to push her students,
create curiosity, empower student voice and student choice within her classroom, and I can honestly say
that I have great confidence in her ability to achieve these things as she assumes a full-time teaching
position. What is most impressive about Jackie Jamieson is her kindness, humility, and her intelligence.
These qualities will make her extremely valued within any institution she works for.

Jackie Jamieson’s combination of intelligence, commitment, perseverance, creativity, and compassionate

character will certainly make her a valuable member of any school. I know that Jackie will flourish
wherever she goes. I would like to strongly restate my recommendation for her for placement in an
English teaching position at the secondary school level. Ms. Jackie Jamieson will be an outstanding
teacher and member of any English Department to which she is invited to teach. If you have any further
questions or concerns regarding Jackie Jamieson, please do not hesitate to contact me.
