IMPORTANCE

 National summer sport of Canada

 Full of rich indigenous history
 Easy activity for kids to get outside or get active
 It is a professional sport and we need to grow it more in Lethbridge

Development:
You will need a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball

Can get any equipment at stores like Bert and Macs or Players Bench in Lethbridge. Will have some
more inexpensive pre-assembled sticks.

How to hold stick - Triple threat position (passing/catching, shooting, dodging)

Paul Rabil Video – Hands are in that triple threat position, stepping with his opposite foot,
following through straight over the shoulder and pointing to his target.
Picking up the ball - Low position, box out, trap and scoop
Cradling the ball - Keep hands loose, bottom hand not gripping stick too hard, stick rolling in
fingers

Closure:
 Triple threat, trap and scoop, and keep hand loose while cradling
 Important to keep this sport alive as it is one of our national sports/has rich indigenous
history
 Can get more information on the Alberta Lacrosse Association website or Lethbridge
Lacrosse Association website for info about our local teams
 There are also some clinics that happen in Lethbridge and Calgary if you are interested
