About:

Bala is a 2019 Hindi-language social problem – Comedy film. Based on an original story by Bengali

film director  Pavel about the life of Rohit Sood.
Bala is a balding man in his late twenties who struggles with his premature baldness. He is a
fairness cream salesman by day and nightclub comic by night. When his insecurity threatens his marriage,
he seeks the help of a dark-complexioned lawyer. Her character Latika is a girl who has struggled all her life
for being someone who has dark skin in a society that is obsessed with fairness. But she has accepted who
she is and is fighting bigots around her. 

Revolving around his everyday struggle due to hair loss, the film also explores Bala's relationship with the
two women in his life, played by Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar.

Bala realizes that beauty is merely skin-deep. He publicly sheds his wig to show that self-love is important
irrespective of appearance. The film ends with Bala, now at peace with his baldness, doing a new comedy
routine about skin-deep beauty and the meaning of life.

1. Baldness
Ayushmann Khurrana stars as the titular character, a young man living in kanpur who is
suffering from male pattern baldness, and the story is about his lack of confidence and
societal pressure that comes with premature balding.

2. Colourism

Bhumi Pednekar is combating societal wrath coming her way in the film as she plays a dark-
skinned girl.

Ba is a beautiful film with the best casting and a story capable of inspiring some! It has got a
lot of elements which makes you realize yourself and love yourself. The question, 'Why
should we change?' is something that should strike really hard on people who are not
confident about themselves. 'If you love yourself, the world will love you!
