THE INTERNET

While the vast majority of children and young adults uses the Internet either at home or school, there are some
who use the Internet at other locations outside the home. Approximately 12 percent of 10 to 17 year olds use
the Internet at the library and a similar percentage use the Internet at a friend's house. (One-third of this group
overlaps, they use the Internet at both the library and a friend's house). However, as shown in the figures
above, only a very small percentage of Internet users in this age group rely solely on Internet access outside of
home and school 2.1 percent although this does vary by family income, race/Hispanic origin, and household
type.

Using the Internet from a location other than home or school also varies by whether the student has Internet
access at home. For example, 16.6 percent of Internet users in the 10-17 age brackets use the Internet at a
public library. This percentage, however, rises to 29.3 percent among kids who use the Internet at school, but
not at home. And although there are large differences in public library use among the various segments of this
group (see Figure 5-13), overall public library use remains high for students who use the Internet at school, but
not at home.

WRITE THE BIOGRAPHY OF Stephen William Hawking

Stephen William Hawking CH CBE FRS FRSA (8 January 1942 – 14 March 2018) was an
English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author who was director of research at the Centre for
Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge at the time of his death.[18][19][8] He was
the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge between 1979 and 2009.
Hawking's scientific works included a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity
theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit
radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology
explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He was a vigorous
supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.[20][21]
Hawking achieved commercial success with several works of popular science in which he discusses
his theories and cosmology in general. His book A Brief History of Time appeared on the Sunday
Times bestseller list for a record-breaking 237 weeks. Hawking was a Fellow of the Royal Society, a
lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of
Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States. In 2002, Hawking was ranked number 25 in
the BBC's poll of the 100 Greatest Britons.

universe, was very popular, but many people did not finish it because it was difficult to understand. In
2005, he wrote a simple version called A brief History of Time. “Before I got ill, my life was boring,” he

work and now we can understand the universe better He said his success came from the help of his
