VETTING A PRODUCT
First product should be:

Shoot for $15-$60
Having multiple items on the first page with low reviews allows for easy competitiveness
Profit margin of >40% (Plan on 30% for Amazon fees, 20% for production/shipping, and 10% for marketing)
Shoot for something that enables bundling with several tangential opportunities, a line of products rather than a single
product
Avoid the following highly crowded products: Silicone baking gloves, baking mat, yoga mat, magnetic screen doors,
vegetable spiralizer, argon oil or shea butter, vitamin c serum, probiotics, prenatal vitamins, multivitamins, testosterone
boosters, resistance bands, microfiber towels, raspberry ketones, coconut oil, gardenia cambogia, iphone cases, car
mount holders, knife sharpener, speed jump rope, ice ball maker, cat post, urine detector light, water bottle, foam roller,
silicone spatula, water bottle, bike light, calf compression sleeves, pet odor __, cellulite massager, almond or tea tree oil,
fish oils whey protein, coffee bean extract, energy bars, or wine aerators
TOOLS:
WatchCount.com (search for general products under a keyword, see past sales and people “watching” an item)
MarketingCrazyTools.com – Has a list of tools
FBAToolkit.com (but always way too low)
999 Inventory Trick day by day - Put in cart, change quantity to 999. It’ll correct to actual inventory. Do the same the
next day, and it’ll show how many were sold in the meantime. Doesn’t work for items they’ll stock over 1000 of.
Azon Seller Tools – “Ultimate BSR Data Mining Throwdown” – Paid tools -
Google Trends (shows trends)
Google’s “Keyword Placement Tool” – Free, but it searches Google, not Amazon
Camel, Camel, Camel (competitor review)
AMZShark (Spy Tool)
Merchant Words – Guess at a keyword for yourself, sort results should be above 80,000 to be viable

You’ll need many many reviews, give product away to generate reviews
Send friends/family to buy your product via a “super url”, a link that embeds that term. They buy at full price (The ones
that don’t want that item, can you then buy it back from them as long as they put in a review?) Aim for 20-25 reviews
from Friends/Family, but 15 is a good #
Amazon Sponsored Ad (PPC) is a goldmine: Have some reviews, an optimized listing, good pictures, a “sale” price, setup
an automatic targeting ad, run a report a week later for the keywords that generate sales
Take the best performing keywords, make your own campaigns around them
