Course Description: The course is designed to provide students with a working
knowledge of various computer programs that will have a practical application in their
teaching careers. The programs taught will include but are not limited to Microsoft
Office, iLife, Logic, and Finale.

Learning Outcomes: Students will demonstrate a mastery of the following material

Microsoft Office: Word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations

!
ILife/Wordpress: Working with digital media, creating a digital portfolio

!
Logic Studio: Recording and MIDI Sequencing

!
Finale: Musical notation for band, choir, and other ensembles. Creating excerpts for

inclusion in papers.

Measurements of the learning outcomes:

As material is covered in class, assignments will be given to reinforce the presented
material. Late projects will not be accepted. All exams must be taken on the scheduled
date.

Attendance is required. Students will be deducted 5% from their final grade for each
absence after their third unexcused absence.

Academic Dishonesty:

Any student who is caught cheating, plagiarizing from an outside source, or turning in
another student’s work as their own will be immediately dropped from the class and
given a final grade of F.
