Malaysian Tech News

Malaysia aspires to be a developed nation by 2025. The Government of Malaysia identified

key digital areas to drive ICT sector: cloud, internet of things (IoT), data analytic, cyber
security, data center, e-commerce and artificial Intelligence (AI) being the main drivers for
Industry 4.0 and Smart City development. Therefore many tech aware events are being held
all over the country, such as the Malaysia Tech Week 2019.
The inaugural Malaysia Tech Week 2019 will be held 17 to 21 June 2019, the first festival of
events driven by the industry that brings together the best of Malaysian Corporates,
Ecosystem Partners, Investors, Regulators and Tech Companies along with delegations from
all around the world to the tech hub of Southeast Asia – Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia Tech Week 2019 will be featuring innovation showcases, business matching
opportunities, pitching platforms, and access to Malaysia’s ecosystem network. This event
offers experiential engagement in a casual setting with abundance of networking
opportunities for all participants.
The objective of the event is to allow youth to connect with innovative minds, and understand
the business environment in Southeast Asia. The event will also feature key attendees and
speakers such as Surina Shukri and Gokhan Ogut. The tech leader sponsors include MAXIS
and IBM.
As a result of such drive for new technology, leading brands such as Huawei are having
global premiere for their products in Malaysia. One such product is the Huawei Nova 5T.
Huawei Malaysia has sent out media invites for the launch event that is happening on 27th
August 2019.
Although the Nova 5 series was announced in China sometime in June, the upcoming Nova
5T is expected to be very similar to the Honor 20. This was revealed when the Nova 5T was
certified alongside the Honor flagship device on Google Play. Serial leakster Roland Quandt
has also confirmed the specs and it’s virtually identical to the Honor device except for some
minor differences in RAM configuration.
For an early look at the device, people can also visit the KL Fashion Week 2019 where
Huawei will be showcasing their product.
