What's the action? Locking someone in. What person got locked in?. The coach. Coach is the direct
object of the verb.

Indirect object receives the action of the verb – indirectly.

Should I send David some extra money?

What am I sending? Some extra money. Who will receive the extra money (if I send it)? David. David is a
indirect object.
