GATE Application Form 2019. The expected exam fee is Rs. 1500/- (and Rs. 750/- for

GATE 2020 Application Form

GATE 2020, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level PG Engineering
entrance exam jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian
Institutes of Technologies (IITs) at Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras

The candidates must be careful while filling the application form for Graduate Aptitude Test
in Engineering 2020, as all this information will be verified at later stages of
admission/recruitment. The Candidates need to arrange the following documents before

Image specifications for GATE 2020 Application Form

The candidates must upload the Scanned images in the correct format as it appear on the

admit card for the exam . These details are verified on the day of the exam, because the
admit card acts as an identity proof of the candidate. Scanned Images of Candidate

How to Fill GATE 2020 Application Form

The GATE 2020 Application Form is to be filled in the steps as shown in the flow chart image

Step 1: Go to the official GATE 2020 Application website. And click on the “Click here to
Apply” button. The candidate will be redirected to the registration page where after filling
the following information, the candidate will receive an application number through SMS
and Email:

The candidates must keep the Enrollment number and password safe for future logins for
downloading the answer key and response sheet .

The candidate must fill the following qualifying degree details carefully in the application
form Institute registration/ Roll number, Qualifying Degree, Discipline of Qualifying Degree,
Graduation status, Year of Qualifying Degree, Country of College/University, State/Union,

 Necessary Documents

The candidate has to upload scanned copies of the following documents in specified size

Step 4: The candidate must carefully Verify and Review the application form and then press
the “submit and proceed to payment” button.

Step 5: The candidate should now select a mode of payment gateway- Debit Card/ Credit
Card/ Internet Banking / UPI, and make the necessary payments.

Step 6: After a successful payment the candidate will now be redirected towards the
application form, which is to be printed and kept carefully for any future references.

The candidates have to fill the following fields in the GATE 2020 Application Form, the
candidates must ensure that the details are correct:

(A) Exam Details

The candidate has to first select the subject they wish to appear GATE 2020 in.
The country they will be giving the exam in.
The choice of state is for the candidates who will appear for the exam in India,
the student must select three cities for examination of their choice for the same.

GATE 2020 Application Form Correction

The exam conducting body opens the form correction window for the candidates who made
certain mistakes while filling the application form. The form correction window will be open
for a one-time correction slot, no further change is possible if the candidate has submitted
the changes once.

The candidates are allowed to update or correct certain information in their GATE 2020
Application Form through the correction window. However, the candidates must note that
certain fields in the application form cannot be edited once the final submission has been
completed.

Ques. What is the last date for filling the GATE 2020 application form?
Ans. The last date for filling the GATE 2020 application form will be notified once the notice
for the application process is released on the official GOAPS portal.

Ques. Is there a reason for my GATE 2020 Application Form rejection?

Ans. The official information brochure of the GATE exam defines the reasons for application
form rejection due to incorrect/invalid images and documents, non-payment of fee, or
untimely corrections made in the application.

Ques. I uploaded the wrong documents in my GATE application form, what can I do now?
Ans. If you have not yet done the final submission of the GATE 2020 Application Form, you
can re-upload the documents. However, if the final submission has been made and the fee
has been processed, you must wait for the form correction window to make changes in your
application form. It must be noted that only certain fields are allowed to be edited by the
candidates, which will be notified later.

Ques. I’m unable to verify my mobile number for the GATE 2020 application form, will my
application form get rejected?
Ans. Sometimes due to heavy traffic, the candidates are unable to verify their mobile
number and email id, due to non-receipt of OTP. Also, check if your mobile number has
proper network connectivity and is not on DND mode. Wait for some time and try again
later.

Ques. After I received an SMS to make corrections in my GATE Application Form, I made the
necessary changes, however, my application form status is still under process. what can I
do?
Ans. The officials will verify your corrected details and see if the required changes have
been made. The process sometimes takes a little while. However, if you face the same issue
after 15-20 days, contact the exam conducting officials through their helpline numbers.

Ques. Is there any correction fee charged to make changes in the GATE 2020 Application
Form?
Ans. Yes, the exam conducting body may charge a fee to make changes in the application
form. Last year the fee to make changes in the exam center was Rs. 400.

Ques. When do the PSU application on the basis of GATE Score start?
Ans. Different PSUs start their recruitment application process at different periods of time,
the candidates are advised to keep visiting the official websites of various PSUs for a notice
regarding the same.

GATE 2020 Admit Card

The admit card is available for download at the official GOAPS website. The Admit Card
contains important information like exam slot, date, time and venue. The candidate can
access their admit card online through application number and password.

The candidate must carry a printed copy of the admit card on the day of the exam, along
with a valid Government Id proof. These documents are mandatory for the candidates to be
carried in the examination hall as they act as temporary proof of eligibility.
