Press one of the buttons to switch to the alarm message window.
There are two types of fault messages:
Red alarm:
System is stopped. This can take the form of a "controlled stop" or an "immediate stop".
Stop (R)
Controlled stop: Module is relieved of its load along a power ramp.
Immediate stop: The power switch is opened without delay.
Yellow alarm:
Alarm (Y)
An alarm has occurred which does not initiate a module shutdown.
Start request:
This button is used to set the time of day and date on the controller.
The time of day and the date for the controller can be set on this page. The time of day is important for time-
stamping fault messages and calculating passwords. Data is entered in the red fields and then transferred to the
controller by pressing the "Set time" button.
If the transfer was successful, the current time of day appears at the top and the seconds counter is running.
In the event of an alarm the "Ack. alarm" button flashes. This button has to be pressed to acknowledge the alarm.

This screen shows an overview of all sensors and measured values associated with the engine as appropriate for
the particular type of engine.
The power factor controller is only enabled once the electrical power
Enable %
exceeds this limit value.
The setpoint is transmitted via the software interface. This
parameter becomes active if the value "0" is specified via the
Equivalent setpoint
software interface. The setting limits are dependent upon the
generator.
Integral component of controller. The higher the value, the faster the
Ki
controller.
Integral time of the controller. The lower the value, the faster the
Tn s
controller.
The starting value can be set between 0% and 100% and influences
the 4 - 20 mA signal to the power factor controller. 0 % means 4 mA,
100 % means 20 mA. The assignments between current and power
Start % factor are outlined in the documentation for the RCI unit. The preset
start value determines the power factor for the inactive power factor
controller (power < enable limit value).
When the controller is enabled, you start with this value.

On request from MTU Engine Management the solenoid valve is opened for the opening time Tö.
It is then closed again for the pause time Tp.
After this the time Tö starts again.
This alternating cycle continues until the request is withdrawn by MTU Engine Management.
The number of requests from MTU Engine Management can be read off from the oil refill counter.

How it works:
The window opens automatically whenever a new alarm message is pending.
During a new alarm message the corresponding group alarm flashes in the menu bar (e.g. R flashes red: a new red
alarm is pending). The alarm messages can be acknowledged with the Reset button.
If the alarm message is no longer pending, the text disappears.
Shutting-down alarm messages are displayed in red.
Non-shutting-down alarm messages are displayed in yellow.
Press the "Home" button to exit the alarm messages window. The alarm messages window will only appear again
when a new alarm message occurs or if selected via the "R", "G" buttons.
Two important distinctions need to be made with regard to alarms for the alarm messages overview:
Self-acknowledging These alarms are reset automatically and deleted from the alarm messages overview
alarms when their cause is rectified.
Non-self- These alarms must be reset by the user by pressing the Reset button (on the alarm
acknowledging alarms messages screen or via the system controller) once their cause has been rectified.
If the number of alarms is so great that not all of them can be displayed in the table, you can use the up and down
arrow buttons to scroll through its content. Pressing on the alarm messages window displays the arrow buttons.

become active.
1.20 Alarmlogger
Pos: 3.40.2 /Dokumentation/Beschreibung/BA/MIP_4000/TX-Alarmlogger-001 @ 7\mod_1253006500847_101.doc @ 202231 @
Use the alarm logger button in the main menu to switch to the window displaying the fault history.
When you switch to the alarm logger screen, the system runs through the fault database.
At the same time a minus (-) marks alarms/status messages that have gone.
A plus (+) marks alarms/status messages that have come.
"AM+SM": The last 1000 alarm and status messages are displayed.
"AM": Only the last 1000 alarm messages are displayed.
If the number of alarms is so great that not all of them can be displayed in the table, you can use the lower arrow
buttons to scroll through its content.
Copying to USB: With this button the current text can be copied as text file to a USB stick (to USB
interface IF4 of the CPC).
The parameters for all alarm messages are set on this page.
There are two ways of navigating through the parameters:
With the arrow keys (forward and back, by one number each time)
By direct entry of the parameter number
The alarm messages are divided into two groups:
Those that monitor a digital signal with "0" and "1", and those that monitor an analog signal with a limit value.
For analog alarm messages the activation is selected via parameterization of whether the alarm message is to be
activated when the signal is above the limit value (maximum signal) or is below the limit value (minimum signal).
In the first case the alarm is deleted when the signal minus the hysteresis falls below the limit value.
In the second case the signal must exceed the limit value plus the hysteresis before it is deleted.
For both types of alarms a delay time between the occurrence of a fault and the triggering of the alarm message
can be parameterized.
For analog alarm messages response thresholds (limit value + hysteresis) are additionally activated. The reaction
to the occurrence of a fault can also be different.
Pos: 3.42.6 /OX-Seitenumbruch @ 0\mod_1218433559331_0.doc @ 255 @
Emergency stop The engine is stopped immediately. The generator circuit-breaker opens immediately.
Immediate stop The engine is stopped immediately. The generator circuit-breaker opens immediately.
The module is relieved of load, i.e. the power is reduced via the setpoint ramp. The
Controlled stop
module is then shut down.
Alarm Only an alarm message is output. The module continues to run.
The alarm can be acknowledged automatically after its "going". Otherwise it remains logged in the current alarm
messages until it is manually acknowledged.
Each alarm message can also be deactivated individually. The relay control is not used.
When the alarm message has been parameterized the button "write parameter" must additionally be pressed. Only
now do the new parameters become active. The button turns green.

1.21.2 Parameters
The parameters for all module parameters are set on this page.
There are two ways of navigating through the parameters:
With the arrow keys (forward and back, by one number each time)
By direct entry of the parameter number
The name, unit and limit values for each parameter are displayed.
When the parameter has been parameterized the button "write parameter" must additionally be pressed. Only now
do the new parameters become active. The button remains green for 3 seconds.

The parameters for all analog values are set on this page.
There are two ways of navigating through the analog values:
With the arrow keys (forward and back, by one number each time)
By direct entry of the parameter number
When this page is active, all alarm messages related to one of these analog values are suppressed. This makes it
possible to compensate the sensors without the constant appearance of alarm messages.
The alarm messages become active again when the page is exited.
Each analog value can also be simulated ("forcing").
The force value is entered and forcing is activated. The value is then evaluated in the complete program. An alarm
message appears in addition to show that a value has been forced.
This constantly draws attention to this function.
Signal shape:
This defines the type of measured value normalization according to the following convention:
Offset:
Via Offset it is possible to compensate deviations of the measurement signals on account of different line lengths
(e.g. PT100).
Decimal point:
Number of decimal places in the measured value.
Pressing the "Write Parameter" button activates the new parameter. The button turns green.
