CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Introduction

The essence of this chapter is to understand the drainage concept

and to study critically and evaluate the various studies that

have been carried out regarding drainage. To start off thereof;

is to define the terms drainage and drainage system. Drainage

according to Oxford English Dictionary (2007) refers to emptying

accomplished by draining. Drainage system on the other hand

according to the English Dictionary, refers to a system of

watercourses or drains for carrying off excess water.
