Haiku
What is a Haiku?
A Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry.
It is a poem that contains 17 syllables and is
organized into three lines. The first and last line have 5
syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. Haikus usually
have a subject that is related to nature.
Example of a Haiku
“Autumn”
Line 1 The leaves are falling 5 syllables
Line 2 7 syllables
floating, fluttering, falling
Line 3 5 syllables
Autumn is here now.
