Guardians (Personal and Temple) Source: Unknown, but appears in origin to be Ritual

Magick, most likely from Egypt or potentially Greece(this is indicated by the Dog
as the usual 'shape', which can be related to the 'Dogs' of Hekateor Kerberus the
three-headed Dog of Hell.). Purpose: To invoke/summon a spiritual guardian to watch
over you during a ritual or if needed duringsleep. This guardian will protect you
from harm and may if needed add their strengths to youcircle/magick. Personal
Guardian "Arise ........ of defence that I may instruct thee in thy
duties. Be thou ever watchful to the North, and the South, the East and the
West, behind thee and above thee, and below thee and around thee.
Take thy watch from the setting of the Sun to the coming of the Dawn, and
stand guard as I have instructed thee."Temple Guardian
"Arise ......... of defence that I may instruct thee in the guarding of this
sacred place, Look to the East, and the South, to the West and the
North. Above thee, and below thee and from what ever quarter evil may
strike. Thy standing is for a year and a day from the setting of the
Sun to the risining of the sun. When thy time is done depart to thine own
place and may you be blessed the amount due to thee."The animal/element
usually summoned is a dog, although this could be changed to fit in with onesown
idealogy. Another popular choice would be the cat or other feline, but the concept
fits inwith any animal/familiar.
