Context of the Interaction:

Upon entry on the client’s room , the client is sitting in his bed and first of all I said “good
morning sir!” and he replied “ good morning , unsa may ato?.” Then, I introduce myself and ask
his name also ,he replied with smile . Then , I said my intentions regarding asking something
about his self , he replied willingly with “ yes”. The client looks approachable and always willing
upon interview and answers questions at right information.

The nurse said ,“Good

to really accept us as our
student nurses. Because the
client replied , I really felt
happy because for I know he
would really participate on my
interview process (orientation
phase)

if you have good authority
upon entry of your
orientation phase, like
greeting first such as good
morning)

We had a normal
conversation with the client in
spite it is called to be an
interview. ( because of the
rapport that is being
established , we had an easy
way of conversation)
Knowing your client and
presenting real situations
gives therapeutic
communication on the client.
( rationale: good introduction
gives good rapport to the
client , providing therapeutic
communication sets up a
good conversation.)

Client: wala naman ko

Nurse : ahh..paghuman sir?
Client: mao toh gidala ko sako
mamaa dinhi.
The client seems to really
answer my question , I think
this is the hardest question to
really ask into a psychiatric
client. ( at first , I really find
ways to really ask this
question , I directed this
question upon our
conversation about his family)
Using different techniques in
questioning, never say “why”
because it is unacceptable to
question clients like that.
Prefer to use “ what” and ask
them in a way that clients
would probably answer it.
