Committed to enabling all learners to complete quality basic education, the Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office X issues the implementing guidelines on the conduct of remedial classes during summer of 2020 for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, in light with the COVID-19 measures, 2. As per Department Order No. 013 s. 2018 re Implementing Guidelines on the Conduct of Remedial and Advancement Classes During Summer for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, the conduct of remedial and advancement classes shall start every second Monday of April and shall end after the completion of the six-week period that may include Saturdays. 3, Amidst the difficult situations brought about by COVID-19, remedial 8 asses must continue through Alternative Delivery Mode using the online; /offline technology. 4, Given the above condition, DepEd RO-X adopts the following guidelines to ensure quality teaching and learning, fa. Only remedial class will be conducted during this Summer of 2020. Hence, the eligible learners are the following: ® Grade 4 to Grade 10 learners who failed in NOT more than two learning areas at the end of the school year despite the educational interventions given; © Senior High School (SHS) learners who failed in any learning area/s at the end of the first or second semester or those learners who have any deficiency due to change of specialization/track after a year and those SHS learners who failed a prerequisite subject; and © Learners from Grade 4 to 12 with special educational needs (LSENS) shall be allowed to attend classes during summer to catch up with their learning deficiencies, if they have the capacity to handle technology-based learning experience. = Me Lean Me hear Dep Regoa = LATA) VAB se sesualce 10 ran Maas, oe 3, Ue Baar Cama 8 C8 = ats na oO aniaaes epomo@emes seb. The school shall determine the learners eligible for summer class based on the final grade to avoid the face-to-face interaction and contact through mobile/social media those learners subject for remedial class or may seek the assistance of the barangay council in contacting the said learners. c. In addition to the requirements in offering summer class as stipulated in the above-mentioned policy, the school must attach the learning plan per class offered in the Summer of 2020 as shown in the Attachment No.1 re Learning Plan of 2020 Summer Class. On the other hand, rules and regulations/cyber ethics in the use of the online/offline technology in the delivery of instruction must be one of the requirements in the conduct of the said class. d. The classes during Summer of 2020 shalll be done from Mondays to Saturdays, and the delivery mode of instruction, including the assessment of learning, shali be in an online/offline manner. e. In giving the final grades of the learners, learning facilitators/teachers are advised to conduct online revalida as final exam. Moreover, they are encouraged to be innovative, creative, and resourceful in making their classes more engaging. 5. Furthermore, the learning facilitators/teachers are advised to utilize Online Alternative Delivery Platforms/ bit.ly/depedcommons. (nttps://my.workplace.com/groups/AlternativeLearningPlatforms/) LRMDS materials, and e-book SHS materials, all of which are saved in the DCP Packages. 6.
