Characterisation

Characterisation is the way the characters in the text are presented.

This results in the audience making judgements, therefore reinforcing the themes in the text.

Characterisation includes the words the character says, the actions and reactions of the character.

Character development  ideas, personalities and conflict.

Bill is a displeased individual living in America which we can infer because he is reluctantly and
“haphazardly” giving a tip. We can infer that Bill is having an unpleasant evening through “crinkling
his brow and wrinkling his nose”. Bill may be working a night shift as he is having breakfast food such
as “eggs, bacon, doughnuts and coffee” at night.

50 word story:

There he was. Lying on the bed, finishing off his glass of milk. He raised his hand, and slowly turned
his head to me. I sat there, next to him watching him as he struggled to break a smile towards me.
He said “Thank you son”. Those were his last words.
Once upon a time, in the world there was only an empty blue sky and a brown land. The sky and the
land were very different, and they often argued with each other. The sky would create strong winds
to try to blow the land away, but the land would stay put. The land would create sandstorms to try
and pollute the sky, but the sky remained blue. Day after day passed and this continued to happen,
when finally one day they decided it was time to stop. They realised that they needed something
between them to stop their fighting and arguing. The land used his powers and created a big trunk
of wood and bark. The sky used his powers and topped this trunk with beautiful leaves, flowers and
luscious fruits. These trees helped the sky and land stop fighting but after a while the trees became
dry and they died. After this, they continued fighting again. This time the sky and land decided to
make oceans to stop them from fighting and to allow the trees to be healthy.

For this reason, due to the arguing of the sky and land, it allowed them to create the beautiful world
we have today.

One Man

One man with millions of bucks

One man with millions of worries

One man with a growing happy family

One man unable to support for his family

One man wears khaki slacks and leather boots

One man runs around bare foot

One man earns thousands of bucks

One man hasn’t earned a single penny

One man wakes up every day

To the sight of a large roof

One man wishes every day to wake up

To the sight of a roof

This world has become a maths equation

The rich and poor have been divided

Man of different status are failing to be added

And become one

Few man control the wealth of the world

Why not divide this wealth with the world

One man has too much

One man has nothing

Why not divide so everyone has something

Inequality

As in maths

There is many ways to find

The solution at the end.
