AMERICA’S FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT

People called Barack Obama as ‘Barry’ when he was a child. His mother was from Kansas. His father was from Kenya.
Barack Obama once lived in Indonesia for a few years. They lived in Jakarta. At the age of ten, he moved back to
Hawaii. After high school, Obama studied in a university in Los Angeles and New York City.
Obama met Michelle in Chicago. They got married in 1992. They have had two daughters: Malia and Natasha (Sasha).
On January 20 th, 2009, at the age of 47, Barack Obama became the president of the United States. It was a historic
day because it was the first time an African American has ever become the leader of the United States. In 2012,
Obama was re-elected for the second time to be a president.
